Crisis in the Congo: Uncovering the Truth
On Thursday, June 30, 2011, the 51st anniversary of the Democratic Republic of Congo's independence, Friends of the Congo will host premiere screenings of Crisis in the Congo: Uncovering the Truth in select cities throughout the United States and Canada (New York, Washington, Toronto, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Detroit, Ann Arbor and Pittsburgh).![](http://friendsofthecongo.org/images/film_photos_tn.jpg)
Featured prominently in the film are such figures as Adam Hochschild, author of King Leopold's Ghost, Anneke Van Woudenberg, senior researcher at Human Rights Watch, and Former New York Times Reporter Howard French, author of A Continent for the Taking.
The film is a call to conscience and action.
